Mary Ella Melton, 73, of Pikeville, went home to be with the Lord on October 6, 2015.
Mary was of the Baptist faith. Some of Mary’s favorite pastimes were spent collecting Barbie dolls and watching true crime shows on TV. She also loved roses.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Lonas and Lillie Smith; a son, Carlos Hankins; four brothers, Charley, Walter, Tommy, and Casto; and a sister, Hazel Smith.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, Paul (Betty) Hankins of Pikeville, Kenneth Hankins of Jamestown, Virginia (Tim) Gunter of Sunbright; four sisters, Delta (Bertie) Walker of Spencer, Myrtle Campbell and Wilma Bolin, both of Pikeville, and Radith (Frazier) Norris of Crossville; grandchildren, Paula, Mark, Misty, Wendell, and Emma Grace; great-grandchildren, Timothy, Taylor, Tommy, and Celeste; several nieces and nephews, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Mary’s life was held in the funeral home chapel on October 9, at 11:00 a.m. with Bro. Wayne Sullivan officiating. Burial was in the Blackburn Cemetery.
