Jewell A. Rothwell, 71, of Spring City, died Tuesday, October 20, 2015 at the Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville.
A lifetime resident of Spring City, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Mamie Etherton. Jewell was a homemaker and wonderful cook, always serving great food. She loved singing gospel songs and studying her Bible.
Jewell was preceded in death by her son Eugene Rothwell; son-in-law James Tarver; granddaughter Kayla Renee Rothwell; brother Frank Etherton; and sisters Flossie Winnie, Lona Smith and Sarah Pelfrey.
Survivors include her husband of 55 years, Leonard Rothwell of Spring City; sons Jeffrey Rothwell and Timothy (Jennifer) Rothwell both of Spring City; daughter Beverly Tarver of Pikeville; brothers Marvin (Sally) Etherton of Chattanooga, Edward (Linda) Etherton of Florida, Ronnie (Gail) Etherton and Archie (Ligia) Etherton, both of Pikeville; sisters Eva Jean Hamilton and Verna Edwards, both of Spring City; grandchildren Zach Tarver, Sebastian Rothwell, Spencer Hegarty, Meagan Hitchcox and Tyler Hitchcox.
A graveside service was held October 24, at 11:00 a.m. in the Dunn Cemetery in Spring City followed by a white dove release.
Vaughn Funeral Home in Spring City was in charge of arrangements.
