Bobby Sapp, Jr.
Robert C. “Bobby” Sapp, Jr., 90, of Pikeville, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at his home.
He attended Pleasant Grove Baptist Church. Bobby was a veteran of World War II and served in the 276th Field Artillery Unit, and retired from the Tennessee Forestry Department after 30 years.
He was proceded in death by his wife, Pearlie Sapp; parents, Bob and Rosa Mae Sapp; sisters, Meg Blomberg, Eva Jane Gilbert; brothers, Glenn, H.C., Wayne and Billy Joe Sapp.
Survivors include four daughters, Mary Ellen (Lester) Whittenburg of Pikeville, Anna Kay (David) Tankersley of Hixson, Deborah (Tim Blaylock) Sapp of Pikeville, Ronda (Scott) Martin of Red Bank; two sons, Richard (Katrina) Sapp of Pikeville, Robert (Lynn) Sapp of Mount Holly, North Carolina; seven grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Burgess of Pikeville, Sue Soderstorm of Nashville and Trudy (Dale) Hale of Dayton; brother, Dwight (Linda) Sapp of Pikeville; several nieces, nephews and friends.
Services were held August 19 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Steve Haston officiating. Burial was in Blackburn Cemetery.
