Dennis Laverne Lee

Dennis Laverne Lee, 71, passed away at his home in Spencer on February 25, 2015.

He was born May 24, 1944, Concord, graduated from Farragut High School, 1961 and served in the US Army in Fairbanks, Alaska. He graduated from the University of Tennessee, 1972 and worked in sales at Xerox, Knoxville. He retired from the Southeastern Tennessee Regional Correctional Facility after 27 years of service as a counselor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence David and Billie Laurel Barrett Lee and two brothers, Norman Glen Lee and Larry Edmond Lee.

He is survived by his son, Eric Daniel Lee; two sisters, Phyllis (Gerald) Roberts, Gallatin; and Marlene (Robert) Taylor, Gainesville, Florida; three half sisters, Kay (David) Wellons, Karla Hodges, Karen (Michael) Flores, all of Knoxville; and several nieces and nephews.

Dennis was a kind-hearted, loving, and quiet-spirited man who loved his family. 

Visitation was held March 1 at West End Church of God in Pikeville with a Celebration Service immediately following officiated by Reverend Danny Ray Lee and special music provided by soloist Davy Lee, cousins of Dennis Lee.

Arrangements were entrusted to Putnam-Reed Funeral Home in Pikeville.
