Maxie Lee Evans
Maxie Lee Evans, 70, of Pikeville went home to be with the Lord on January 11, 2015.
She was a devoted, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was of the Church of God faith. Some of her favorite pastimes were spent cooking, working in the restaurant, and enjoying time with friends and family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Lee Evans; parents, Leonard and Nellie Angel; brother, James Angel; six half-brothers, and three half-sisters.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her son, James Evans; daughters, Penny (Jeffrey) Johnson, Kim (Joel) Smith, and Tammy Evans; brothers, Phillip (Barbara) Angel and Robert (Alberta) Angel; sister, Vicki (Skip) Ball; grandchildren; Tiffany (Joe) Menken, Brandon (Rebecca) Johnson, Ryan Johnson, Britany Evans, Desiree Evans, Bradley (Amy) Evans, Jacklyn (Darius) Fugate, Chad Cagle, Garrett Cagle, and Katlyn Cagle; great-grandchildren, Makayla Johnson, Evelyn Menken, Caleb Mabey, Drake Fugate, Joanie Evans, and Kyleigh Fugate; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends.
A Celebration of Maxie’s Life will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, January 14, at 1:00 p.m. with Bro. Doyle Ashburn and Bro. Milton Kerr officiating. The family will receive friends on Tuesday from 3-9 p.m. Burial will be in the Iron Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial contributions be made to help with Maxie’s final expenses.
