Mildred “Christine” Ewton Turner

Mildred “Christine” Ewton Turner, 90, of Bledsoe County, passed away December 4, 2014. Mrs. Turner was a loving wife, devoted Mother, Grandmother, and Great-Grandmother. 

Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her husband, Brown L. Turner; parents, Grady B. and Lora Austin Ewton; daughter, Marilyn Turner Webb; grandson, Corey Webb; and brother, William “Reece” Ewton.

Mrs. Turner is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Dianne and Marshall Fletcher, Cookeville, TN; son-in-law, David Webb and Janie, Dunlap; grandchildren, Christy (Danny) Killman, Cookeville, Nathan Fletcher, Cookeville, Shane (Grace) Webb, St. Petersburg, Florida; great-grandchildren, Katie Killman, Jordan, Jessica, and Philip; brothers, Johnny (Linda) Ewton and Grady (Bobbie) Ewton; sister-in-law, Maxine Ewton; several nieces, nephews and cousins, including loving niece, Regenia Moore, and special friend, Joyce Jackson.

She was a life long member of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church and a retiree of DuPont. She liked to cook and sew, and loved being with her family and friends.

The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers, especially Sarah Carr, of “Right at Home-In Home Care,” and “Gentiva Hospice” both of Cookeville.

Funeral services were held Sunday, December 7, in the funeral home chapel with Elder Virgil Herrin officiating. Burial followed in Johnson-Lewis Cemetery. 

Flowers accepted or contributions may be made to Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, Sequatchie County Cancer Network, or The Wounded Warrior Project.

Arrangements were entrusted to Ewton Funeral Home in Dunlap.
