Raymond Marler

Raymond Earl Marler, 66, of Dayton Mountain, died Sunday November 16, 2014 at his home. He was born August 16, 1948 at his home on Dayton Mountain and was delivered by his grandmother. 

He was preceded in death by his father Oliver Marler and his brother Buddy Marler.

He was a graduate of Rhea Central High School Class of 1968 and was retired from Memorial North Park Hospital. He was a life-long farmer and enjoyed deer hunting, turkey hunting, being a “Mr. Fix-It” and playing with his grandchildren.

He was a member of the Frostbite House of Prayer.

Raymond is survived by his wife of 45 years, Joyce “Helen” (Daniel) Marler, his mother Gladys “Boots” (Stephens) Marler, son Steven (Paige) Marler, all of Dayton Mountain, three daughters Sheryl Ashley of Evensville Mountain, Apryl (Jeff) Holloway of Pikeville and Jennifer (Joshua) Underwood of Pikeville Mountain, two brothers Jackie (Janice) Marler of Evensville Mountain and Rev. Freddie (Shelia) Marler of Dayton Mountain and sister Judy Groves of McMinnville, nine  grandchildren, Candace, Tiffany and Cody Holloway, Matthew, Madison and Jackson Underwood and Samantha, Tyler and Hunter Marler.

Funeral services for Raymond will be held Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Paul Daniel and Rev. Jimmy Jewel officiating.  He will be laid to rest in the Ogden Cemetery on Dayton Mountain Friday at 11:00 a.m.
