Alvin Houston Johnson, 85, of Pikeville passed away on July 28, 2014. He attended Sampson Freewill Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Anas Lee (Watson) Johnson; parents, Orie and Anna (Curtis) Johnson; son, Trent Johnson; brothers, Orie Johnson, Jr., Milton Dion Johnson, and Myrlan Johnson; and a sister, Juanita Watson.
Survivors include son, David (Linda) Johnson, San Diego, California; daughter, Kathy Johnson, and Deborah (Jennings) Bilbrey; brother, Wayford (Evelyn) Johnson; sisters; Shirley (Junior) Hankins, Darlene (Carlos) Smith, all of Pikeville, and Rowena (Kenneth) Rhodes of Graysville; ten grandchildren; 18-plus great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and many special friends.
A Celebration of Alvin’s Life was held on Thursday, July 31, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Hubert Davis and Bro. Bill Montandon officiating. Burial was in the Blackburn Cemetery.
