Hazel Elizabeth Simmons

Hazel Elizabeth Simmons, 85, of Pikeville died Wednesday, July 23, 2014. She was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.

Hazel was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Powell (C.P.) Simmons; sister, Virginia Watkins; and brother Paul VanWinkle.

Survivors include three daughters, Joyce (Stanley) Crawford of Pikeville, Jane (Newton) Snow of Crossville, and Janice (Rick) Keener of Grundy County; three sons, Roy (Pam) Simmons, Sammy Ray (Laura) Simmons and James Powell (Lea) Simmons, all of Pikeville; four brothers, James and Earl VanWinkle of Pikeville, Charles and Richard VanWinkle of Ohio; 12 grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Services were held Friday, July 25 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Darvin Oakes officiating. Burial was in Simmons Cemetery.
