Elvira Edmons
Sister Elvira Ellen Edmonds, 95, of Pikeville, died on Monday, May 12, 2014.
She built and pastored Summer City Church of God, and was a member of Lee Station Church of God.
Mrs. Edmonds was preceded in death by her husband Oscar “Auce” Edmonds; mother Elsie Clark; and brother Deward Clark.
Survivors include her children Imogene (Charles) Angel of Pikeville, Agnes Hendrick of Chattanoooga, Vernell Keener Iverson of Alabama, John (Sandra) Edmonds of Harrison, Thelma (Elmer) Blaylock of Pikeville, grandchildren Carol (Don) Swazye, James (Melissa) Hendrick, Greg (Candace) Edmonds, Sherry (Jeff) Grushka, Stephen (Tara) Keener, Michael (Madeline) Keener, Charles Norman (Janet) Angel, Jeanna (Bron) Reece, Joel Demerdjian, John Demerdjian; great-grandchildren Jeremy and Jason Swayze, Jordan Grushka, C.J. and Justin (Jamie) Angel, Alicia Angel (Michael) Maddox, Chandler and Libby Hendrick, Maddie and Bob Edmonds, Sarah Keener, Abigail and Noah Keener; one great-great-granddaughter Allie Brook Angel; sister-in-law Yvonne Clark of Pikeville; nephew Mark Clark.
Services were held Friday, May 16 at 1:00 p.m. CST at Summer City Church of God with Rev. Freddie Marler, Rev. Wendell Harris, and Stephen Keener officiating. Burial was in Pikeville Cemetery.
