Randall J. Loyd

Randall J. Loyd, 77, of Pikeville, passed away Sunday May 11, 2014 at his home with his loving family around him.

He was born May 17, 1936 and was a lifelong resident of the Nine Mile Community.

Randall graduated from Bledsoe County High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was a farmer and a mechanic. He always was helping others. Randall was a Christian and attended Faith Baptist Church. He was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. He cherished his family and friends and always had a smile on his face. He had a kind heart and generous spirit, and he loved listening to bluegrass music.

He was preceded in death by his parents Lester and Neva Loyd; and a sister, Melba Torbett.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife of 55 years, Emma E. Loyd; son Mickey Loyd; sister Hazel (Clayton) Edmons’ brothers and sisters-in-laws, Bobby (Dolly) Fields, Margie Lewis, Clayton (Tommye) Fields; nieces, Rhonda (Steve) Simmons, Janet (Mike) Huskey, and Cindy Simmons; several great-nieces and nephews, cousins, and many special friends.

A Celebration of Randall’s life will be held Wednesday, May 14 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Doyle Ashburn and Bro. Milton Ker officiating. The family will receive friends from 3:00 to 9:00 p.m. on Tuesday and prior to the service. Burial will be in the Brushy Cemetery with full military honors.
