Virginia Jo Martin Austin

Virginia Jo Martin Austin, 75, of Dunlap, died in a Chattanooga hospital Saturday, March 15, 2014 after a brief illness.

She was a member of the Church of Christ and was a supervisor of Spartan Industries and Flint Zippers where she retired after 40 years. Mrs. Austin was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Harold Dean Austin; parents, James Howtie and Lola Mae Lewis Martin. 

Survivors include her daughter, Patsy Gail Long, Dunlap; sister, Katherine (Ernest) Bone, Dunlap; brothers, James (Sue) Martin, Hixson, George (Mae) Martin and Robert (Diane) Martin, both of Dunlap; several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 18 in the funeral chapel with Tim Babb officiating. Burial will follow in Old Union Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 8 p.m. on Monday.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Sequatchie County Cancer Support Network or Hospice of Chattanooga.
