Harold Eugene Johnson

Harold Eugene Johnson, 71, of Pikeville passed away Thursday, January 30, 2014. 

He was a member and attended the West End Church of God. Harold retired as a manager of the Shipley Basket Factory. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and uncle. 

He was preceded in death by his son, Charles Henry Johnson; grandchildren, Bentley and Clayton “Lee Lee” Holland; brothers, Freddy, W.L., Clifford and Larry Johnson; sister, Alice Pendergrass; and his parents, Elbert and Maggie Johnson. 

Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, Eva Johnson; sons, Clayton Holland, Lynn (Barb) Smith, Jim Miller, Don (Melissa) Smith, daughters; Mary Francis Putnam, Treva Summers all of Pikeville and Dorothy Miller, Hixson; brothers, E.J. and Dale Johnson, both of Sparta, and Elwood Hale; sisters, June Johnson, Margie Dukes, Fay Ford, Phoebe Brymer, Ruth Frady, Betty Jo Brewer and Margaret Price; grandchildren, Anthony, Paul, Jamie, Christy, Jimmy Ray, Bobby Lynn, Amanda, April, Jacquelyn, Christopher, Hanna, Nevaeh, Kendra, Lakeshia, Jacob, Jonah, and Shay; several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and many dear friends. 

A Celebration of Harold’s Life was held February 2 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Lee officiating. Burial was in the Collier Cemetery.
