Joe Thomas McBay, of Chattanooga, passed away Friday, October 11, 2013.
He was a native of Scottsboro, Alabama and was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. Joe was an Eagle Scout and served this country in the United States Navy. He retired with over 47 years of employment with Buster Brown, formerly Skyland International. Joe loved to play softball and pitched for over 15 years. He was a member of Oakwood Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ramona Joyce Peavy McBay; and a daughter, Ramona Kay McBay.
He is survived by his two sons, Steve (Sharon) McBay of Harriman and Terry McBay of Red Bank; six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren; brothers, Glen McBay of Spring City, Don (Virginia) McBay and Larry (Pam) McBay both of Pikeville; special friends, Barbara Williams and Donna Goodfellow; caregiver, Faye Criss; and many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Joe was held October 14 at Hamilton Memorial Gardens.
