Ruth Lee Brown Tollett

Ruth Lee Brown Tollett, 92, of Pikeville went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 26, 2013.

She was a Christian and a member of the Pikeville United Methodist Church. She was born and raised in Cumberland County, then moved to Pikeville in 1945. She and her first husband, Carl, owned and operated Brown’s Grocery and Service Station and Brown’s Auto Parts store for 25 years in Pikeville. They retired from these businesses in 1975.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Della Tollett Lee; two brothers, Frankie and Robert E. Lee; three sisters, Amy Lou Stephenson, Helen Lee, and Beulah Cagle; and her first husband of 66 years; Carl Tollett Brown.

Survivors include her husband; Eddie Tollett and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Ruth’s life was held in the funeral home chapel on September 28 with Bro. Doyle Ashburn officiating. Burial was in the Pikeville City Cemetery.
