L.L. “Doc” Conley

L.L. “Doc” Conley, 92, of Pikeville passed away on September 17, 2013. Doc, as he was known around Pikeville, left the hustle and bustle of the big city life after practicing Dentistry in Florida for over 35 years to come to the valley and farm. He loved the farm, and especially his dogs. Doc was originally from Tennessee, born in Hillsboro, on February 3, 1921 to the late Tilford and Era Conley.

Doc was preceded in death by his aforementioned parents; and a sister, Alta Cathey.

He is survived by his wife, Jacqueline Conley of Pikeville; daughter, Jeana DeLoach of Kodak; grandchildren, Taevan Black of Sevierville, Anjeana (Steve) Thurston of Salisbury, North Carolina; great-grandchildren, Amanda Sisco and Steven Thurston, both of Salisbury, North Carolina, Ashley Cooper of Lake City, Florida, and Talon Black of Sevierville; and three great-great-grandchildren.

A celebration of Doc’s life was held in the funeral home chapel on September 21 with T.A. Smith officiating.
