Andrea Houge

Andrea Houge, 48, of Pikeville, formerly of Detroit, Michigan, passed away after her battle with a terminal illness. She was a Christian woman and attended many churches, but she found a home and became a member at the AME Mt. Zion of Pikeville.

Andrea was a strong, loving, and devoted mother, faithful to her Creator, her church, and her children. She was known for her strong opinions. She loved to participate with her children in activities they loved. Her hobbies were bowling, listening to music, dancing, and playing bingo. She loved and adored all her friends, old and new alike. She liked to encourage and support her nieces and nephews to be their best as they progress in life. She enjoyed reading her novels along with the Holy Scriptures. She was very adamant about how much she loved her family. She was employed by the Bledsoe County School System and worked as a secretary at Bledsoe County Middle School. 

Andrea (Auntdrea), was preceded in death by her father, Frank Houge, Jr. and a sister, Cheryl Houge.

She is survived and will be missed by her children, Andre, Byron, Nathanial, Michael, and Christina; brothers, Frank Houge III, Anthony Houge, and Lester Houge; sisters, Harriet Houge and Diane Houge; mother, Hester Anne Houge; and all her friends at BCMS.

Services were held in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Ken Jones August 31. Burial was in the Pikeville Cemetery.
