Roy Hjalmar Lund

Roy Hjalmar Lund walked through the valley on the way to heaven on Friday, July 5, 2013. Born in Chicago, Illinois on July 13, 1922, he was 90 years old. He and his family moved to the Melvin Community of Pikeville in June 1985. Roy was a devoted member of Faith Baptist Church in Melvin.

He is survived by loving family members, including his wife of 60 years Esther Lund; daughter Nancy (Frank) van Alten of Amsterdam, Holland; granddaughters Kristina (Brian) Stewart and Tarah Lund of Chicago, Illinois; great-granddaughter Kendall Stewart of Pikeville; grandsons Erik Lund of Pikeville and Anthony Cress of Costa Mesa, California; a niece Katie Lund (David) Angel of Pikeville, and a wealth of family and friends.

A memorial service honoring Mr. Roy will be held Friday, July 26, 2013 at Faith Baptist Church with Brother Doyle Ashburn and Brother Milton Ker officiating. In lieu of flowers, please mark your calendar now and join the family in honoring Mr. Roy with your presence. Share your memories of the past and rejoice in the passing to his eternal home.
