Elbert Merdic Babb, Jr

Elbert Merdic Babb, Jr., 47, of the Luminary Community died Wednesday, May 15, 2013. He was the assistant fire chief of Luminary Frostbite Volunteer Fire Department.

Preceding him in death were his parents Elbert M. Babb, Sr. and Sherley Babb; and mother-in-law Margaret Mealor Mumea. 

Survivors include wife of 23 years Margaret Babb of Luminary; daughters Elsie Nichole (Scott) Holland of Chattanooga, Ruby Babb of Luminary; son Albert “Bo” Babb of Luminary; grandchildren Jaiden “Tater” Babb, Ace Holland and Callie Evens Babb; brother Albert M. Babb of Graysville; step-father Chuck Mumea; and several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Monday, May 20 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Greg Banther officiating. Burial was in Babb Cemetery.
