Charles Essex

Charles Essex, 69, of Pikeville passed away on Thursday April 4, 2013. 

Charles was a Baptist by faith. He was a veteran of the United States Army who enjoyed farming and spending time with family.

He was preceded in death by his father, Stanley Essex; mother and step-father, Ethel and Leo Crandell; brothers, Henry, James and Harold Essex; and a sister, Edna M. Bowling.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Joanne; daughters and sons-in-law, Stacie (Thomas) Watson, Gail (Allen) Watson, and Leslie (Brad) Harrison; sister, Donna (Gordon) Crandell; grandchildren, Megan, Warren, D.J., Peyton, Matt, Allie, Emily, and Ryan; great-grandchildren, Olivia, Levi, Oaklee, and Eli; several nieces and nephews; and many close friends.

A celebration of Charles’ life was held in the funeral home chapel on April 8. Burial was in the Chattanooga National Cemetery on April 9 with full military honors.
