Woodrow Blaylock

Woodrow Blaylock, 64, of Pikeville died in an accidental house fire in the early morning hours of March 4, 2013. 

He was an avid hunter. Woodrow particularly enjoyed hunting squirrel and rabbit.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Sam and Avis (Hankins) Blaylock; brother, Fred Monroe Blaylock; a sister, Ocie Mae Hunter; and nephews JR Conley and Scotty Blaylock.

Left behind to cherish his memory are his brothers, James “Bud” Blaylock, Charles Blaylock, William Blaylock, and Lee Norman Smith; sisters, Lucille Boyd, Mildred Gilbert, Gladys Regan, Nannette Blankenship, Mary Watson, and Flossie Haston; nieces, Barbara Yearwood and Brenda Conley; nephews, Danny Conley, Wayne Conley, and David Gilbert; and several dear friends.

A celebration of Woodrow’s life was held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday, March 17 with Bro. Rudy Oakes officiating. Burial will be in the Blaylock Cemetery.

Arrangements were made by Pikeville Funeral Home in Pikeville.
