J.L. Kerley
J.L. Kerley, 75, of Pikeville passed away on Wednesday March 6, 2013.
He was an outdoorsman, loved his dogs and cats, and enjoyed hunting and fishing. J.L. was a veteran of the United States Army.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil (Vanwinkle) Kerley; parents, Leonard and Janie (Walker) Kerley; and sister, Emma (Kerley) Pendergrass.
Left behind to cherish his memory is his beloved special friend, Treva Scarbrough; nieces, Mary (Don) Mize of McMinnville, and Nancy (Terry) Blanco, Newnan, Georgia; nephews, Ronnie Pendergrass of Newnan, Georgia, and Levon (Betty) Pendergrass of Huntsville, Alabama; and many dear friends.
A celebration of J.L.’s life was held in the funeral home chapel on March 9 with Bro. Jim Whitaker officiating. He was laid to rest in the Brushy Cemetery with full military honors.
