Henry M. Britt, 80, of Mansfield, Ohio passed away Saturday, March 9, 2013 at his residence following an extended illness.
Henry was born October 13, 1932 in Bledsoe County and was the son of the late Eskill and Nellie (Reece) Britt. He proudly served his country in the U. S. Army. Henry worked as a truck driver and welder for over 20 years at A & H Welding in Mansfield. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in Mansfield. Henry loved fishing, gardening, and working with his hands; and worked two jobs his entire life.
Along with his parents, Henry was preceded in death by five siblings, Martha Ellen Greer, Ann Imhoff, R.J. Britt, and twins, Louie and Dewey; and sister-in-law Bernice Simmons Britt.
He is survived by his companion of 27 years, Marjorie Traxler; two brothers, Clyde (Barbara) Britt of Crossville, and Leon Britt of Pikeville; sister-in-law Oma Britt of Crossville; numerous nieces and nephews; and cousin, Jimmy Britt of Detroit, Michigan.
Funeral services were held March 13 with Pastor Brian Phillips officiating. Burial was in Lantz Cemetery with full military honors performed by Richland County Joint Veterans Burial Detail.
