Gordon Ray Henry

Mr. Gordon Ray Henry, 55, of Douglas, Georgia passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012, at Coffee Regional Medical Center, following a brief illness.

Henry was born on August 22, 1956, in Monterey, Tennessee, to the late Virginia Matthews Henry. He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia Matthews Henry.

Survivors include two daughters, Blaine Henry of Douglas and Bree Henry of Jacksonville, Florida; one granddaughter, Addison Deen of Douglas, Georgia; one sister, Carol Oakes of Pikeville; one brother, Jerry Henry of Pikeville; and several nieces and nephews.

Memorial services were held July 10 at the chapel of Sims Funeral Home with Pastor Gregory Pope officiating. Music was furnished for the service by CDs of When I Get to Where I’m Going and Heaven Was Needing A Hero.

Honorary pallbearers were Roger and Susan O’Steen, Tai Hutto, Colin and Janelle Anmons, Sonny Cooper, Larry Gunter, Alton Martin, Jennifer Evans, Robert Eunice, Ralph Jowers, Lynn McDonald, Rick and Tammy Gardner, Rand Vickers, Darrell Cumbass, James Cumbass, John Coffee, George Bordeaux, Joe O’Neal, Chet Royals, Bobby Giddens and Junior Burkett.

Arrangements were made by Sims Funeral Home.
