Betty Suzanne Lemons
Betty Suzanne Lemons passed away Saturday, August 11, 2012 after a lengthy battle with cancer.
Twice married and widowed, she was the wife of the late James E. Lemons, Sr., and the late 1st Lt. Robert T. White.
She is survived by her children Polly Jennings and husband Andy, Dee Hutzell and husband Russ, Marie Lawrence-Branum and husband Bruce, and James E. Lemons, Jr. and wife Susan; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; her brother, Thomas F. Dobbs, Jr.; sister, Tommie Elaine Jordan; an uncle, niece, nephew, and cousins.
She retired from the State of Tennessee after 30 years of service. She has been a member of St. Luke United Methodist Church since 1961. In lieu of flowers, she requested that donations be made to the St. Luke United Methodist Church general fund.
The funeral service was held August 14 at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 3210 Social Circle, in Chattanooga followed by a private graveside service.
Arrangements were made by Lane Funeral Home in Chattanooga.
