Jimmy Sprouse
Jimmy Sprouse, 68, passed away on Monday July 2, 2012.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, and a veteran of the Vietnam War for which he was awarded both the Bronze Star and a Purple Heart for his service. He was a carpenter by trade. He was affectionately referred to as the unofficial leader of the “Union of the Unemployed” by his friends at Thurman’s store.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Calvin and Nanny Faye Sprouse.
He is survived by his daughters, Pam and Heidi Sprouse; brothers, Russell Nicholas Sprouse and Robert William Sprouse; sisters, Martha Faye Ballard, Sandra Ervin, Catherine Burrell, and Sharon Victoria Orton; four grandchildren, one great-grandchild, and many friends.
A celebration of his life was held at the Frostbite House of Prayer with Bro. Paul Daniels officiating on July 5 with full military honors, provided by the local American Legion Post 66.
