Mattie J. (Martin) DeBord

Mattie J. (Martin) DeBord, 96, of  St. Cloud, Florida passed away Monday, April 16, 2012. She was born in Winesap, Tennessee on March 31, 1916. She was a wife, mother and farmer before moving to St. Cloud with her family in 1957.

She was retired from the Osceola County School District where she was a cafeteria worker at the old St. Cloud High School building. She was a lifelong Christian and a member of the St. Cloud Christian Church for many years.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Sam, of 67 years.

She is survived by her four children, Brenes (Carolyn) DeBord, Bruce (Norma) DeBord, Elizabeth (Richard) Steinmetz and John (Rose) DeBord; daughter-in-law, Linda DeBord, all of St. Cloud; eight grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren and 2.8 great-great-grandchildren. Mattie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother who was loved and respected by all of her family and friends. She was also loved by many nieces and nephews in Florida, Georgia, Tennessee and California, and a special childhood friend, Vera Reagan of Pikeville

Visitation is Thursday, April 19 from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. with a service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Osceola Memory Gardens Cemetery, Kissimmee, Florida.
