Robert S. Thompson Sr
Robert S. Thompson Sr., 75, of the Mooneyham community, died Tuesday, March 27, 2012 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville. He was born February 6, 1937 in Fentress County to Luther Cosby Thompson and Ruby Roysden. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Tobytha Ann Thompson; daughter, Missy Stevens Walker; sisters, Mary, Ruth and Etta “Tootie”; and brother, Frank Thompson.
Survivors include daughters, Minnie (J.W.) Dewesse and Dollie (Ronnie) Bryant; sons, Bobby, Robert, Jr. (Janet), Ronald “Pugg” (Cratus), Wade (Vicky) and Lynn (Angela). He was a devoted grandpa to Randi (Charlie), Kim (Evan), Ashlie Jo, Jessi (Levi), Samantha, Justin “Bubba” (Ashley), Darrin, Monica, Lyndsay, Ethan, Tre’s, James and Kayla; great-grandchildren, Zane, Zachary, Dakota, Lexi, Paytyn and Kylie; sister, Ethel Stephens; and a host of nieces and nephews. Cecil Dodson as devoted friend and brother-in-law and Tom Rogers spent time with Robert.
Services were held March 31at the Mooneyham Church of God with Pastor Doug Cunningham, Bro. Clyde Cunningham, and Bro. Joe Scott officiating. Burial was in Myers Cemetery.
