Margaret Darlena Lewis

Margaret Darlena Lewis, 84, of Pikeville died Saturday, March 31, 2012 at Erlanger Bledsoe Hospital.

She was a member of the Mt. Crest United Methodist Church. She was born February 29, 1928 to William C. and Gledys Frazier Simmons.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of 57 years Charles W. Lewis; three brothers, Veon, Otis and Milo Simmons; and granddaughter, Lisa A. Lewis Sullivan.

She is survived and will be missed by her three sons and daughters-in-law, Douglas and Brenda Lewis of Hixson, Clifford “Jug” and Virginia Lewis, and Randall and Reta Lewis, both of Pikeville; daughter and son-in-law, Margaret and Tom Henry of Palmer; brother and sister-in-law, Clarence “Tex” and Carol Simmons of Pikeville; sister and brother-in-law, Tunney and Wilma Dunn of Pikeville; six grandsons, seven great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandson; several nieces and nephews, and many close friends.

A celebration of her life was held in the funeral home chapel on April 3 with Rev. Cecil VanWinkle and Rev. Steve Haston officiating. Burial was in the Frazier Cemetery. Donations can be made to Frazier Cemetery in her memory.
