Wendell Lee Brown, 61, longtime resident of Pikeville, died on January 3, 2012 at his home after an extended illness.
He was born March 15, 1950 to the late Marshall Brown and Leatha Brown Humble.
He was a member of the Lee Station Baptist Church. He was employed by both Dayton Products and Eclipse Manufacturing as a sheet metal manufacturer. Brown enjoyed teaching his grandson and others the trade of beekeeping, mowing the grass, gardening, spending time with family and helping others.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Angelea Crawford, Geraldine Nichols, and infant sister, Louise Brown.
He is survived and will be missed by his wife of 42 years, Linda Brown; children, Susan (Jerry) Blankenship of Spencer; Dawn Machelle (Jeff) Baisley of Jasper and Rodney Brown of Chattanooga; grandchildren, John and Abby Blankenship; brothers, Thomas (Betty) Brown of Rossville, Georgia, Ralph (Nan) Brown of Crossville, Lawton (Sue) Brown of Smithville, and Edward (Corine) Brown and Richard (Ann) Brown, both of Pikeville; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, and many dear friends.
A celebration of his life was held in the funeral home chapel on January 6 and officiated by Bro. Ray Skiles and Bro. Billy Wolfe. Burial was in the Wesley Chapel Cemetery.
