Theresa E. Cates

Theresa E. Cates, 76, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2012 in Ohio. She was born July 27, 1935 to Mary E. and Johnny G. Wooden. She married Granvil “Red” Cates on May 9, 1953, and retired from Crawford Printing Company after 30 years of service. She was of the Baptist faith.

She was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Thomas J. Wooden.

She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Granvil; siblings, Johnny Jr. (Sue) Wooden of Auburndale, Florida, Jake E. (Alma) Wooden, Robert A. (Peggy) Wooden, Patsy (Lynn) Kelly, and sister-in-law, Jane Wooden all of Pikeville; Martha (Bobby) Trotter, William A. Wooden, both of Dayton; and Marilyn (Jimmie) Jarvis of Windham, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were held on January 11 with Pastor James Epling officiating. Interment was at Greenlawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hospice of Summa, 444 North Main St., P.O. Box 2090, Akron, Ohio 44398 in memory of Theresa Cates.
