Dorthy Christine (Curtis) Brannon Cole
Dorthy Christine (Curtis) Brannon Cole, 77, of Crossville, passed away December 4, 2011, at Cumberland House Hospice surrounded by her loving family. She will be greatly missed and forever loved by her many friends and family.
She was born Feb. 21, 1934, in Bledsoe County, the daughter of the late Robert “Bobby” Sharp and Eliza Ann (Edmonds) Curtis. She was a member of the Church of God of Prophecy. She made delicious apple pies. Her other interests were spending time with family, attending flea markets, collecting dolls and antiques.
She is survived by her brothers, James Curtis and wife, Fern, of Charleston, Wilburn Curtis and wife, Sally, of Crossville, and Wendell Curtis and wife, Sandra, of Nolensville; sisters, Frances Hale and husband, Thomas, Kathleen Creason and husband, Everett, and Margaret Isham, all of Crossville; nephews and nieces, Wayne Hale and wife, Rita, Dexter Hale and wife, Reda, Donald Hale, Merrill Hale, Sharon Hale, Cynthia Sutton and husband, Bill, Denise Barnes and husband, Rick, Kim Hutsell and husband, C.L., Gwen Goddard and husband, Eugene, Lynn Isham and Tim Forsythe; aunts, Maggie Myers and husband, Roy, Glendon Edmonds and Agnes Edmonds; numerous great- and great-great-nieces and -nephews. Also, her special friend James Houston. They enjoyed spending time together picking apples and wild flowers.
Funeral services were held at the funeral home on December 7, with Bro. Eddie Kilgore and Bro. Woodrow Forsythe officiating. Pallbearers were Wayne Hale, Donald Hale, Dexter Hale, Tim Forsythe, Bobby Hale and Allen Hale.
Arrangements were made by Bilbrey Funeral Home, Inc. in Crossville.
