Dimple Jean Ward, 79, of Pikeville passed away on Sunday, September 4, 2011 at an area hospital.
She was born on January 6, 1932 to the late Howard and Lillie Ellen Moody. She loved to crochet and she also loved to read. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Pikeville, and served on the Board of Directors of S.T.A.R.S.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry J. Ward; brothers, Clyde, Billy, Fred, Bob, and Terry Moody; and sisters, Ann Lee Moody and Agnes Humble.
She is survived and will be missed by her four sons, Dennis (Carol) Ward of Plant City, Florida, Daniel Ward, Donald Ward, and David Ward, all of Pikeville; one daughter, Dorothy (Bob) King of Romeoville, Illinois; one sister, Sue Panizutti of Lake Panasofkee, Florida; grandchildren, Chris Ward, Aaron Piver, Melanie Jones, Dale Piver, and Eric Ward; great-grandchildren, Peyton Piver , Cody Piver , Riley Piver , Caitlyn Piver, Makenzie Jones , Logan Jones, and Gavin Jones; nieces and nephews, Linda, Carol, Sherri, Wenton, Troy, Amy, Shasta, and Gary.
A celebration of her life was held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 7, at First Baptist Church with Bro. Jimmy Williams officiating. Burial was in the Pikeville Cemetery.
