Cilvester Clyde Pendergrass

Cilvester Clyde Pendergrass, 87, of Pikeville, died Thursday, July 21, 2011 at his home surrounded by family and his very special caregiver.

He was a truck driver and farmer for many years and was a U.S. Navy veteran.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Elizabeth; infant daughter Marcia Gail; parents John Herman and Elizabeth Pearl; step-mother Betty; sisters Lenore Riggs, Lois Hale Vinson, Lorene Cappel, Claudine Pendergrass, Flossie Dyer and Ellen DeBord; brother Claude Pendergrass; and great-grandson Duane Boynton.

Survivors include daughters Jean Pendergrass of Ohio; Glenda (Bobby) Partin of Pikeville; son Wayne (Lana) Pendergrass of Crossville; sisters Shirley (Jim) Elam of Ohio; Frances (David) Clemons of Hendersonville; Jewel (Randy) Boyce of Lebanon; brothers Blake (Glenda) Pendergrass of Ohio; Everett (Judy) Pendergrass of Knoxville; Jack (Jean) Pendergrass of Pikeville; four grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters-in-law and friends.

Services were held July 24 in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kenneth Norris officiating. Burial was in Will Smith Cemetery.
