Billy Hamilton
Billy Hamilton, 92 of Corbin, KY., formerly of Pikeville, TN., passed away on July 10 2011 at Thomson Hood Veterans Center in Wilmore, KY. He was born on November 11, 1918 to Joseph and Martha (Roberts) Hamilton in Pikeville, Tennessee. He served in the Army from 1940 to 1944 and was stationed in Pearl Harbor when it was bombed. He was a skilled cabinetmaker and was employed by Wilson Cabinet for over 25 years. He enjoyed shooting pool, and watching Nascar. He was formerly married to Carrie (Ferguson) Hamilton for over 25 years. Although they divorced, they remained life-long friends. His second marriage to Evelyn Blaylock lasted 15 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, both former wives, and an infant son (Joseph), infant daughter (Jo Ann) and a great-grandson.
He is survived by a son; William (Mary) Campbell, a daughter, Mary Jane (Kenneth ) Houchins, 6 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren; all of Fremont, Ohio.
A Celebration of His Life officiated by Bro. Jimmy Williams will be held graveside at Walker Cemetery at 10 a.m. Wednesday. He will receive burial with full military honors provided by our American Legion Post 066.
There will be no formal visiting hours, however those wishing to pay their respects may come by the funeral home Wednesday morning prior to the service.
