Helen Kelly Cox

Helen Kelly Cox, 91, a resident of Decatur died Sunday, March 13, 2011 at Laurelbrook Nursing Home in Dayton.

A native of Pikeville, Cox moved to Chattanooga in her early 20s where she met her husband of 54 years, Harry Maxey Cox. The couple was married in a small ceremony in Daytona Beach, Florida in 1944. In 1948 the couple moved to Decatur and had two sons, Frederick Arthur now of Miramar Beach, Florida and James Marion now of Tucker, Georgia.

Husband Harry preceded Helen in death in 1999.

Surviving relatives include one sister, Betty Hamilton of Pikeville; grandsons Alex Cox of Atlanta; Eddie Goicolea of Miami, and Anthony Goicolea of New York City; as a well a number of loving nephews and nieces.

A memorial service was held March 17 at Westview Cemetery in Atlanta.

Arrangements were made by A.S. Turner and Sons in Georgia.
