Dennis Jerry Burdette

Dennis Jerry Burdette, 66, of Gallatin, died Tuesday, February 1, 2011 at Sumner Regional Medical Center in Gallatin. He was born in Spencer, on July 29, 1944, the son of the late Henry C. and Sarah (Brewer) Burdette. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1962 to 1965, in the U.S Air Force from 1965 to 1970 in the Vietnam War and in the Army National Guard.

Burdette was preceded in death by five brothers, Clifford, Fred, Bruce, Harry and Gene Burdette; four sisters, Bessie Burdette, Bernice Gentry, Doris Pauline Burdette, Betty Rose Burdette; and wife Loretta Roberts Burdette.

He is survived by his wife Brenda (Carmack) Burdette of Gallatin; son Jeffery Burdette; and his mother Alice of Crossville; step-son Stuart Thomas of Hendersonville; three brothers, Earnest (Maxine) Burdette of Sparta, Kenneth (Susie) Burdette of Spencer and Johnny (Carmine) Burdette of Spencer; two sisters, Elizabeth (Richard) Wood of Crossville and Bertha Mae (Bobby) Shockley of Spencer; many nieces nephews and friends. 

Services were held February 4 in the funeral home chapel with Cecil VanWinkle officiating.
