Mary Ellen Goforth Bickford

    Mary Ellen Goforth Bickford, of Pikeville, passed away November 15, 2010. She celebrated her 100th birthday on August 15, 2010.

    She was a master of all forms of needlework including crocheting, knitting and quilting. She was a Christian, attending the Church of Christ at Griffith and at Pikeville.

    She was preceded in death by her husbnad John Lee BIckford; daugthers Ruth DeBord and Louise Carmack; mother Nell Rose Goforth; sister Carrie Agee; borthers Henry Goforth, Howard Goforth, Mitchel Goforth and James Goforth.

    She is survived by her children Carlos Bickford of Asheville, North Carolina, Jim Bickford of Pikeville, Alene Hammond of Nashville, Pauline McCarley of Lexington, Kentucky, Shirley Bilbrey of Chattanooga, and Charlotte Colvard of Crossville; sister Ova O’dell of Deposit, New York; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.

    Services were held Wednesday, November 17 at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Minister Tony Britt officiating.
