Margie Bell Cummings, 72, of Pikeville died at her home Friday morning October 8, 2010. Cummings was born on Evensville Mountain on April 23, 1938, the daughter of the late Robert Jesse James Jordan and Jessie (Felts) Jordan. She was also preceded in death by her son Tony Cummings.
Cummings lived most of her life in Pikeville and had been employed as a beautician and then as a home health care nurse. She was a member of the Friendship Baptist Church.
She is survived by her beloved friend, Benny Songer of Pikeville; two daughters, Pat (Birch) Arnold of Dayton and Debbie (Bobby) Sullivan of Dayton Mountain; son Ronald (Bertha) Cummings of Paris; brother, Edward Jordan of Dayton Mountain; five sisters, Mildred Cardwell and Thelma Ashley both of Texas, Lavell Curry of Nashville, and Katherine Anderson and Addie Brown, both of Dayton Mountain; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held October 10 in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Danny Lee officiating. Burial was in the Summer City Cemetery.
