Jessie L. Thomas

    Jessie L. Thomas, 86, of Pikeville passed from this earth Friday, October 8, 2010.

    She was a lifelong member of the Church of Christ and attended the College Grove Church of Christ for many years. She will be sadly missed.

    She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Jim Thomas; six brothers, Fred Eugene, Raymond, John, J.L., and Spencer Allen Smith; three sisters, Mabel and Pauline Holland and Opal Millard; and parents John Lawrence and Callie Jane Smith.

    She is survived by her daughter, Janie (J.C.) Smith of Pikeville; two grandchildren, Lisa (Donnie) Nipper of Pikeville and Kevin Smith of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Destiny Shelton and DaJohn Smith; a very special niece, Sue (James) Settles; and nephew, Dennis (Mary Jane) Smith.

    Funeral services were held October 11 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Elmer Bell and Bro. Dennis Smith officiating. Burial was in Collier Cemetery.
