Richard Hale Shirley

    Richard Hale Shirley, 77, of Crossville, passed away on Friday, September 17, 2010.

    Shirley was a crushed stone operator. He was a veteran of the United States Army.

    He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Young Cole Shirley; parents, Victor and Grace Shirley; sister, Connie Norman; and brother, Bill Shirley.

    He is survived by his daughter, Nancy (Jackie) Cagle of Pikeville; sons, Jeff (Kim) Shirley of Knoxville, and Blake (Susan) Shirley of Charlotte, North Carolina; brother, Norman Shirley; grandchildren, Katie Cagle and Channing Alexander Shirley; and a special nephew, Gordon Shirley.

    A memorial service was held for him on Wednesday, September 22 at 2:00 p.m. with Bro. James Dunn officiating. Inturnment will be in the Dotson Cemetery.
