Edith M. Conger

    Edith M. Kenimond Conger, 98, of Pikeville died September 18, 2010 in Wharton Nursing Home in Pleasant Hill. She was born March 19, 1912 in West Bethlem Township, a daughter of Winnett R. and Icy Dora Reese Kenimond.

    On July 1, 1937, she married David O. Conger, Jr., who passed away September 29, 1996. She and her husband owned David O. Conger Wholesale Confections for many years in Washington before moving to Florida in 1962. She worked as a manager for GNC Stores in Seminole, Florida. They spent a few years in Ft. Myers, Florida before retiring to Spring Hill, Florida in 1985.

    In 2003, she moved to Tennessee and shared her life between her children. She rejoined the Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church in Amity in later years.

    Preceding her in death were her grandson Bryan Interval; four brothers, Charles, George, Wilbert and Frank Kenimond; and three sisters Sara Barnart, Icy Soner and Dorothy Clarke.

    Surviving are three children, Judith and husband Richard E. Interval of Fairfield Glade, David O. Conger III and wife Janet Conger of Pikeville, and Robert D. Conger of Oakley, California; sister, Velma R. Crile of Amity; three grandchildren, Yvonne Frith (Rodney), Richard E. Interval, Jr., and Susan Rosenstein (Thomas); eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

    A service was held Saturday, September 18 in Washington, Pennsylvania. Interment followed at the Lower Ten Mile Presbyterian Church Cemetery in Amity, Pennsylvania.

    Arrangements were made by William G. Neal Funeral Home in Washington, Pennsylvania.
