Martha Ellen (Britt) Greer

    Martha Ellen (Britt) Greer, 78, of Mansfield, passed away Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at MedCentral Mansfield Hospital following an extended illness. Born November 21, 1930 in Pikeville, Tennessee, she was the daughter of the late Eskil and Nellie (Reese) Britt. She moved to Mansfield in 1955 and retired from King’s Department Store as a sales woman. Martha had also worked for Ruth’s Mini Mart. In her earlier years, she enjoyed sewing and quilting. Martha was very family oriented and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed reading the Reader’s Digest and loved her flowers.
    She is survived by three sons, James “Tom” (Wanda) Greer of Mansfield, Harold (Patty) Greer of Martinsville, Indiana, and Johnny (Martha) Greer of Mansfield; eight grandchildren, Tammy (Phil) Dollish of Mansfield, Judy (John) Fisher of Shelby, Carrie Greer of Martinsville, Indiana, Jimmy Greer, and Randy Greer, both of Mansfield, James (Tina) Greer of Raeford, North Carolina, Angie Thomas of Mansfield, and Elizabeth (Matt) Corwin of Galion; three brothers, Henry Britt of Mansfield, Clyde (Barb) Britt, and Leon Britt, all of Crossville, Tennessee; 13 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; special friend, Lewis Dye; and her cat, Sugar. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Linda Joyce Perkins; three brothers, RJ, Dewey, and Louie Britt; and one sister, Ann Imhoff.
