James A. “Jim” Hale
James A. “Jim” Hale, 87, of Pikeville, passed away on Sunday, June 7, 2009 at his daughter’s home in Pikeville. He worked for the Bledsoe County Highway Department as a truck driver. He loved to farm, and was of the Church of Christ faith.
Hale was preceded in death by his parents Harry and Stella Hale; wife, Katie Hale; brother, Clarance Hale; sister, Anna Lou Pendergrass; and a son-in-law, Joe Nipper.
He is survived by and will be sorely missed by his three sons Gordon (Alice) Hale, Clifford (Erma) Hale, and Wayne (Debbie) Hale; daughter Anita Nipper all of Pikeville; brothers Herbert (Alice) Hale and Lester Hale, both of Pikeville; sister Virginia (Charlie) LeCroy of Soddy Daisy; ten grandchildren Ronald, David, Patrick Hale all of Florida, Mike, Chip, Dewayne and Eddie Hale, Leslie and Jennifer Nipper, and Kirby Rice, all of Pikeville; 16 great-grand-children; 1 great-great grand-child; several nieces and nephews; and special friends Bryan, Linda, Matthew and Elizabeth Jordan.
A celebration of his life was held in the Pikeville Funeral Home Chapel on Wednesday, June 10 with Jim Mac Foust and Rex Ogle officiating. Burial was in Hale Cemetery and was followed by a white dove re-lease.
