Charles DavidS heldon
He was born in Tampa, Florida in 1938 and moved to Pikeville in 1988. He was an amazing and loving father, grandfather and devoted friend. Sheldon was brilliant and yet always humble. He had a great sense of humor and never ran out of stories to tell.
He graduated from the University of Southern Florida and taught at Bran-don High School. He was a lieutenant in the Army, diving instructor, interior designer, door-to-door vitamin salesman, detective, photographer, cable splicer and did many more things during his life. Although he excelled at everything he did, his favorite pastimes were guns and woodworking. He was a master gunsmith, a lifetime member of the NRA, and had a degree in wood crafting. He was Episcopalian and a member of Masonic Lodge 330, Temple Terrace.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Catherine G. Sheldon.
Survivors include his children Julie (James) Richerson and Charles David (Rebecca) Sheldon II, all of Pikeville; grandsons Michael Richerson, Charles David III, Colton and Marcus Sheldon, all of Pikeville; Robert David and Jacob Abbott of Florida; granddaughter Jillianne Abbott of Florida.
He will be greatly missed, the world more empty with-out his light. He will never be forgotten, his compassion, generosity and patience ex-tended to everyone he met. He never saw a stranger, just a friend he hadn’t yet met.
