Ralph Owen Carmen

    Ralph Owen Carman, 98, of the Green Hill Community died Monday, April 6, 2009, at River Park Hospital in McMinnville. He was born on February 7, 1911, in Rhea County, was retired manager of the South Carthage Water Utility District, member of Gath Baptist Church, and served his country with the U.S. Army during World War II.
    Carman was preceded in death by his parents Dwight O. and Melissa Caroline Coleman Carman; his wife of 71 years Augusta F. Carman; his sisters Agnes Rich, Nita Carter, and Hazel Frazier; and a brother Marshall Carman.
    Survivors include his chil-dren Juan and husband Ray B. Miller of Winter Haven, Florida, Anna Sue and hus-band Cecil Corvin of Pikeville, Owen Carman of Elmwood, Ralph Lynn and wife Diana Carman of Lutz, Florida, and Norma Insua of Pikeville; eight grandchil-dren and 13 great-grand-children.
    Funeral services were held April 10 in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Ray Gilder officiating. Interment was in Gardens of Memory.
