Early voting for the August 5 State of Tennessee Republican and Democratic Primaries and Bledsoe County General Election will begin on July 16 and run through July 31.

Citizens may vote, in person, at the Bledsoe County Election Commission Office located in the courthouse on Main Street in Pikeville.

Voting hours will be July 16 and 17, July 19-24, and July 26-31, 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Early voters should remember to bring a proof of identification. Any voter who registered by mail and has never voted, must vote in person at their first election after registration.

They may also vote by absentee ballot. A person who wishes to vote absentee by mail, and meets the qualifications, may obtain an application, in person, at the Election Commission Office or by U.S. Mail. For questions about the qualifications, con-tact the Election Commission office at (423) 447-2776.

The application for an absentee ballot must be fully completed and returned no later than July 29. The voter’s absentee ballot must be received by mail no later than 7:00 p.m. on August 5 at the Bledsoe County Election Commission Office.

On the ballot for the General Election are Incumbent Gregg Ridley [R] and Robert  “Bobby” Collier [D] running for County Mayor.

Running for District 2, Part A of the County Commission are Incumbent Tim Campbell [D] and Ted J. Scruggs [I].

Running for County Com-mission District 4, Part A are Incumbent Greg Johnson [D] and Mark McClellan [R].

Incumbent Perry Swafford [D] and Randy Thurman [R] are running for County Commission District 6, Part B.

On the ballot for County Sheriff are Incumbent Jimmy Morris [R], Bob S. Swafford [D], Lonnie Evans [I] and Jamie Thompson [I].

Incumbent Jamey Roberson [D] and Michael Walker [R] are running for Circuit Court Clerk.

Running for Road Superintendent are Marvin E. Smith [R], Phillip Ray Smith [D], and Tim Simmons [I].

On the ballot for District 1, Part A and Part B on the School Board are Bobby Angel, Bennett L. Boynton, Michelle W. Collier, Gloria M. Morgan, and Melissa Lee Wells. The two candidates receiving the most  votes will represent District 1.

Incumbent Sue H. Everett and Gina R. Hankins are running for District 3 on the School Board. Incumbent Alan Smith and Jim Powers are running for District 5 on the School Board.

Running unopposed in the General Election are:

•Incumbent Ronnie Sapp [D] for County Commission District 1, Part A.

•Incumbent Robert Reece [D] for County Commission District 1, Part B.

•Shayne Bickford [R] for the County Commission Dis-trict 1, Part C.

•Incumbent Craig T. Mercer [D] for County Commission District 2, Part B.

•Steve “Skip” Bice [R] for County Commission District 3, Part A.

•Ronald “Ronny” Hudson [R] for County Commission District 3, Part B.

•Incumbent Tanya J. Roberson [D] for County Co-mmission District 4, Part B.

•Incumbent Roger L. Sim-mons [R] for County Commission District 5, Part A.

•Incumbent Junior Lee Hankins [R] for County Co-mmission District 5, Part B.

•Vincent R. Boring [D] for County Commission District 6, Part A.

•Incumbent Deanna H. Rains [D] for Trustee.

•Incumbent Carolyn Mills Terry [R] for County Clerk.

•Incumbent Emma S. Boynton [R] for Register of Deeds.

On the ballot for Governor in the State Republican Primary are Bill Haslam, Joe Kirkpatrick, Basil Marceaux, Sr., Ron Ramsey and Zach Wamp.

Mike  McWherter is running for Governor unopposed in the State Democratic Primary.

Incumbent Lincoln Davis is running unopposed for the 4th Congressional District of the United States House of Representatives in the State Democratic Primary.

On the ballot for the 4th Congressional District of the United States House of Representatives in the State Republican Primary are Jack Bailey, Scott DesJarlais, Kent Greenough, Ronald L. Ha-well, and Donald “Don” Strong.

Incumbent Eric Swafford and Cameron Sexton are running for the 25th Representative District of the Tennessee House of Representatives in the State Republican Primary.

On the ballot in the State Democratic Primary election is Charles Ray Rains, running unopposed.

Running for the 14th Senatorial District of the State Executive Committeeman on the State Republican Primary ballot are Bill Green and Charles Lynn Sebourn.

On the State Democratic Primary ballot for the 14th Senatorial District of the State Executive Committeman are Paul Davis and Steve Roller.

Running for the 14th Senatorial District of the State Executive Committeewoman in the State Republican Primary are Janice Bowling and Iva Michelle Russell.

Betty N. Farley is running unopposed on the State Democratic Primary ballot for the 14th Senatorial District of the State Executive Committeewoman.
